I came to color from cinematography: around five years in film and video production, the last three as a DI colorist. The camera background built an understanding of light, optics and composition long before the frame reaches the grade.
The technical side of the pipeline is my territory alongside the grade: conform from any editing software, color management, mastering for delivery — from theatrical screening to vertical versions. The foundation is an engineering degree.
